Documentary about child rights – special focus of the Travelling Film Festival Docudays Ua 2009
Конвенція про права дитини

Documentaries about the most urgent child issues will be shown in the 100 cities and towns in some 24 regions of Ukraine during October - December 2009.

This initiative of the Docudays Ua is in the framework of the UNICEF World Film Festival on child rights dedicated to the 20th Anniversary of the Convention on the Rights of a Child.

We have opened submissions for the next 6th edition of DocudaysUA - Human Rights Documentary Days, International Film Festival.

The Festival will take place from 27th March to 2 April 2009 in Kyiv, Ukraine.
Submission deadline is October, 31th 2008.

Documentary Project Development Workshop
• If you are a young director or producer, beginner in documentary production
• If you are from Moldova, Ukraine, Byelorussia, Georgia or Armenia
• If you have a documentary film idea and you do not know where and how to find money for your project

OWH TV Studio and Magika Film with the support of European Cultural Foundation invite you to apply for Documentary Project Development Workshop (DPDW) that will take place between 15 – 18 May 2008 in Chisinau, Republic of Moldova.

During the workshop you will learn:

1.how to develop the film project
2.how to write a good proposal for funds and broadcasters
3.what to do with the written proposal
4.how to apply for the production money
5.how to go with your film to the world
6.about the funds, pitching forums and festivals

• You will learn by practicing. During the workshop you will develop your film idea into a film project and in the last day you will take part in a pitching session simulation.
• Also, you will have the possibility to see successful films and to meet young directors from Eastern Europe that succeeded in financing their projects. 
• The workshop takes part in the same time with The International Documentary Film Festival CRONOGRAF. You will have the possibility to attend the screenings and the receptions where you can meet filmmakers from all over the world.
• Organizers cover accommodation, meal and 50% of transport costs (up to 200 Euro). There is no participation fee.
• The workshop is lead by Rada Sesic

Rada Sesic lectures on Indian cinema (University of Amsterdam) and teaches at Rotterdam Film Course. Selects South Asian films for International Film Festival Rotterdam and is in the selection comity of Hubert Bals Fund, part of IFFR.
She collaborates as a selector for International Documentary Film Festival from Amsterdam (IDFA) and she is a member of the selection committee of Jan Vrijman Fund.  For the last four years, she is an advisor of STIFO- Dutch Fund for Supporting Film and Television creative collaboration.

She is the selector of the Regional Documentary Programme at Sarajevo Film Festival and in India one of programmers of the International Kerala Film Festival. Guest lecturer at the Universities- Anadolu in Eshisehir, in Geneve Ecole superieure des Beaux-arts and Nederland Film Academy. (She also works as a tutor for European Documentary Network.
As a scriptwriter and director, made in the Netherlands three films: Room Without a View, 1997, Soske, 2001 and In Whitest Solitude, 2002.

The third edition of Dragon Forum
The third edition of Dragon Forum – the international documentary film workshops ending by pitching in the middle of Europe - gets started! Applications till January 31, 2008 !!!
Dragon Forum 2008 includes: cycle of 3 workshops, during which participants are preparing the documentary film project from the script and production side for the professional presentation at the pitching during the Krakow Film Festival. Projects will be presented to the group of commissioning editors from the best European TV stations. This is a unique chance for developing your film projects under the masters eyes and finding the co-producers.

Dragon Forum 2008 is the place for discussion about nowadays documentary film and for the creative exchange of experience at the international meeting. We support author’s, engaged and honest  documentary cinema which discovers true reality. Our aim is to work  in the spirit of definite „documentary school” which is represented by our tutors Marcel Lozinski, Jacek Blawut, Katarzyna Maciejko-Kowalczyk and the experts from EDN European Documentary Network. 

The professional authors of documentary films, directors, screenwriters and producers are warmly invited to take part in Dragon Forum 2008, as well as the film schools students and independent authors. Please read the participation rules at the www.dragonforum.pl , where you can also find an application form. We are awaiting for applications till the 7th of December, 2007.

The Traveling Festival will take place from October to December
On October, 8 in Crimea the opening ceremony of the traveling season of the Human Rights Documentary Film Days 4th International Festival will take place.

From October to December, inhabitants of 12 regions ( 25 cities) of Ukraine have an opportunity to watch the Festival’s films.

The Festival has a New wonderful partner.
From July a festival began successful collaboration with Project EAST SILVER.

Our Festival has a new remarkable partner.

I am very glad to such co-operation with East Silver.

In fact one of our main aims to open the Amazing World of Creative Doc for the Ukrainian viewers.

But I very hope, our collaboration will help to bring the young Ukrainian documentary filmmakers to the European Documentary market.
